How I Spent the Spring

6/2/2014

On March 10th, I had surgery on my right hand, to reattach a torn ligament, so I haven't been able to write very much til now.  But I did receive the drawings of Sean Solley's design class, which you can leanr about on their own page, and I've been working on this site, adding new material, filling in the blanks.

I also went to Seattle, where I spoke at the Disability Center of the University of Washington
on the topic of Disability Liberation, asking questions about how our society creates disability, and what kind of society we would need to build for our bodies not to be socially disabling.

This week I'll be going to Minneapolis, where I'll be talking about environment, health, trauma, social justice...all that good stuff, and reading from my latest books.

I've just been invited to speak in Barcelona, Spain in November
at a conference on inclusion, so I'll be talking about the conditions that led to the Vehicle, and again, what kind of society would celebrate the wild diversity of human abilities.

As my hand improves, I'll finish the digital story that I'm going to use to raise funds for the Vehicle, and prepare to launch my Indie GoGo campaign.
