I've gone through many possible options over the course of designing the Vehicle. I've now decided on a 5th wheel structure pulled by a pickup truck. For people who plan to travel a lot, a 5th wheel is safer and more stable than a regular trailer hitch. There are two big advantages to having a towed home, rather than building it on a truck bed. First, I can detach the vehicle and use it to get around, without hauling the entire weight of my home to the grocery store. Second, I can begin traveling and living in my home using current fuel technology, but have the ability to easily switch to an alternative fuel pickup truck when it becomes available.
I hope that someone will make a powerful enough hydrogen fuel cell pickup truck right about the same time that one of the many teams working on solar hydrogen generators has the breakthrough that makes it efficient and affordable enough to put it on the market. I dream of being able to travel on sunlight, water and a few minerals.

The GMC Sierra 2500 is the right strength and weight truck for the job I have in mind, but I may be able to get away with a smaller truck by using the Automated Safety Hitch which offers much greater steering and braking control.
